How to Set Up IPTV on IBO Player (Smart TV, Firestick & Android)

How to add your AbyssTV subscription to IBO Player using the device ID and key shown on your TV.

4 min read5 viewsUpdated Oct 5, 2026

IBO Player is a popular IPTV app for Samsung and LG Smart TVs, Android TV and Amazon Firestick. It works a little differently from most apps: you don't type your login into the TV. Instead, the app shows a device ID and a device key, and you add your AbyssTV playlist from your phone or computer. It sounds like an extra step, but it saves a lot of typing with a remote.

This guide walks you through it from start to finish. Allow about ten minutes.

Before You Start

You'll need:

  1. Your AbyssTV login details — the M3U link, or the server address, username and password, from your welcome email (you can also find them by signing in to your AbyssTV account).
  2. Your TV or streaming device with IBO Player installed, or ready to install.
  3. A phone or computer on any internet connection, to add the playlist.

Good to know: IBO Player is made by a separate company. The app gives you a free trial and then asks for its own one-time activation fee, which is paid to the app's maker — it is not part of your AbyssTV subscription. If you'd rather use an app with no fee of its own, see our IPTV Smarters Pro guide.

Step 1: Install IBO Player

  1. Open the app store on your device — Apps on a Samsung TV, the LG Content Store on an LG TV, the Google Play Store on Android TV.
  2. Search for IBO Player.
  3. Install the app and open it.

On a Firestick, search for it from Find → Search. If it isn't listed in your region, contact AbyssTV support and we'll send you the steps to install it with the Downloader app.

Note: You may see apps with very similar names, such as IBO Player Pro. They are set up the same way — just make sure you use the website shown on your app's screen in Step 3.

Step 2: Write Down Your Device ID and Device Key

When IBO Player opens, it shows two codes on the screen:

  • a Device ID (it looks like a MAC address: six pairs of letters and numbers), and
  • a Device Key (a short number).

Write both down, or take a photo of the screen with your phone. The same screen shows the address of the website where you add your playlist. Leave the TV on this screen.

Step 3: Add Your AbyssTV Playlist Online

  1. On your phone or computer, open the website shown on your TV screen.
  2. Enter your Device ID and Device Key and sign in.
  3. Choose Add Playlist.
  4. Give the playlist a name, for example AbyssTV.
  5. Add your subscription in one of two ways:
    • M3U link — paste the full M3U link from your welcome email. This is the quickest way.
    • Xtream Codes — enter the server address, your username and your password in the three fields.
  6. Save.

Tip: Copy and paste the link rather than typing it. A single wrong character is enough to stop the playlist loading.

Step 4: Load the Playlist on Your TV

  1. Go back to your TV.
  2. Reload the app — choose Reload / Refresh if the app offers it, or close IBO Player and open it again.
  3. Select your AbyssTV playlist.

The app now loads your channels, movies and series. The first load can take a minute.

Step 5: Start Watching

Once the playlist has loaded you'll see sections for Live TV, Movies and Series. Open Live TV, pick a category and choose a channel. Press and hold OK on a channel to add it to your favourites.

Getting the Best Picture

  • Use a wired connection if you can. Smart TVs often have weaker Wi-Fi than a phone or laptop.
  • Try another player. IBO Player's settings let you choose between video players. If a channel won't start or the picture stutters, switch player and try again.
  • Restart the app after changing a playlist online — changes only arrive when the app reloads.

Still Stuck? Troubleshooting

  • The website says the device isn't found: Check the Device ID and Device Key character by character. The letter O and the number 0 are easy to mix up.
  • The playlist is listed but empty: The link was probably cut off when pasting. Delete the playlist online and add it again.
  • The app says the trial has ended: That message is about the app itself, not your AbyssTV subscription. You can activate the app with its maker, or switch to another app from our setup guides.
  • Channels buffer: See how to fix IPTV buffering.

If you're still not watching, contact AbyssTV support and tell us your TV model and what you see on screen — we'll take it from there.
