Smart IPTV — often shortened to SIPTV — is one of the longest-running IPTV apps for Smart TVs. It is simple and light, and it runs on many Samsung and LG models as well as Android TV and Fire TV devices. Like other Smart TV players, it doesn't ask you to type a login on the TV. You upload your playlist from a phone or computer, using the MAC address the app shows on screen.
Here is the whole process, step by step. Allow about ten minutes.
Before You Start
You'll need:
- Your AbyssTV M3U link from your welcome email. You can also find it by signing in to your AbyssTV account. Smart IPTV uses the M3U link rather than a username and password.
- Your TV with the Smart IPTV app installed.
- A phone or computer to upload the playlist.
Good to know: Smart IPTV is made by a separate company. The app runs as a free trial for a few days and then needs a one-time activation, paid to the app's maker for each TV. That fee is not part of your AbyssTV subscription. If you prefer an app without its own fee, our Smart TV guide lists the alternatives.
Step 1: Install Smart IPTV
- Open your TV's app store — Apps on Samsung, the LG Content Store on LG, the Google Play Store on Android TV.
- Search for Smart IPTV.
- Install it and open it.
Note: The app isn't available in every TV app store or for every model year. If you can't find it on your TV, don't worry — your AbyssTV subscription works with many other apps. See the Smart TV guide or ask our support team which app suits your model.
Step 2: Find Your TV's MAC Address
When Smart IPTV opens without a playlist, it shows a start screen with your TV's MAC address — six pairs of letters and numbers, like a1:b2:c3:d4:e5:f6.
Write it down exactly, or take a photo. The same screen shows the address of the app's website, where playlists are uploaded.
Step 3: Upload Your AbyssTV Playlist
- On your phone or computer, open the app's website shown on your TV and go to the My List page.
- In the MAC field, type your TV's MAC address.
- In the URL field, paste your full AbyssTV M3U link.
- Leave the other options as they are and choose Send.
You should see a confirmation that the playlist was added, with the number of channels found.
Tip: Always paste the link — don't type it. If the page reports zero channels, the link was cut off or has a space at the end.
Step 4: Load the Channels on Your TV
- Go back to the TV.
- Restart the Smart IPTV app (close it and open it again), or press the button the app shows for reloading the list.
- Your channels appear, grouped by category.
The first load of a large playlist can take a minute.
Step 5: Start Watching
Use the arrow buttons to move through the groups and channels, and OK to play. The app's on-screen help lists what the coloured remote buttons do on your TV — typically switching groups, opening settings and changing the picture format.
Getting the Best Picture
- Connect the TV with a network cable if your router is nearby. It is the single best fix for buffering on Smart TVs.
- Restart the TV occasionally. Smart TVs keep apps in memory for a long time; a restart clears things out.
- Changed your subscription or devices? Upload the playlist again from the My List page so the TV has the latest link.
Still Stuck? Troubleshooting
- "Check playlist URL" on the TV: The app can't reach the link. Upload the playlist again and make sure the full M3U link is pasted.
- The MAC address isn't accepted: Check each character. The letter O and the number 0, and the letter B and the number 8, are easy to confuse.
- The app says the trial is over: This is about the app, not about AbyssTV. Activate it with the app's maker, or move to another app using our setup guides.
- Picture freezes: Follow how to fix IPTV buffering.
