XCIPTV Player is a free IPTV app with a clean, TV-style layout: live channels, a full programme guide, movies and series, each behind its own tile. It runs on Android phones and tablets, Android TV boxes and Amazon Firestick, and it signs in with the same details as every other AbyssTV app. This XCIPTV Player setup guide takes you from installing the app to watching your first channel.
Allow about five minutes. Keep your AbyssTV welcome email open while you follow along.
Before You Start
You'll need two things:
- Your AbyssTV login details — the server address (URL), username and password from your welcome email. You can also find them by signing in to your AbyssTV account.
- A device to watch on — an Android phone, tablet or TV box, or an Amazon Firestick / Fire TV.
Tip: Your details are case-sensitive. Copy them exactly as they are written, with no space before or after.
Step 1: Install XCIPTV Player
On an Android Phone, Tablet or TV Box
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Search for XCIPTV Player.
- Select the app, choose Install, then Open.
On Amazon Firestick / Fire TV
- From the home screen, go to Find, then Search.
- Type XCIPTV and look for XCIPTV Player in the results.
- If it's listed, choose Get and wait for it to install.
Note: XCIPTV Player isn't in the Amazon Appstore in every region. If you can't find it, the app can be installed with the free Downloader app instead. Contact AbyssTV support and we'll send you the link and the exact steps for your device.
Step 2: Open the App and Choose How to Sign In
The first time XCIPTV Player opens, it asks for permission to use storage — allow it, so the app can save your guide data and settings.
You'll then see the sign-in screen. If the app offers more than one way to sign in, choose Xtream Codes API. This is the recommended method: it loads your channels, the programme guide, movies and series in one go, already sorted into categories.
Step 3: Enter Your AbyssTV Details
Fill in the three fields exactly as they appear in your welcome email:
- URL (sometimes labelled Server or Portal) — the server address, including
http://at the start and the port number at the end if your email shows one. - Username — your AbyssTV username.
- Password — your AbyssTV password.
- Select Sign In.
The app now downloads your channel list, the on-demand library and the guide. The first load can take up to a minute. Let it finish — closing the app half-way is the most common reason for an empty channel list.
Prefer a single link? If your version of the app has an M3U URL option, you can paste the full M3U link from your welcome email instead. Both methods give you the same channels; Xtream Codes simply adds the on-demand sections and loads the guide by itself.
Step 4: Start Watching
When loading finishes you land on the home screen, with a tile for each part of your subscription:
- Live TV — every channel, grouped by category, with what's on now and next.
- Movies and Series — the on-demand library, in up to 4K.
- EPG / TV Guide — the full programme guide in a grid.
- Favourites — the channels you mark with a long press on the remote.
Pick Live TV, choose a category, and press OK on a channel to start it.
Getting the Best Picture
- Use a wired connection or strong Wi-Fi. A steady connection matters more than a fast one. For 4K, aim for 25 Mbps or more.
- Try the other video player. In the app's settings you can switch between its built-in players. If a channel shows a black screen or the sound is out of step, switching player usually fixes it.
- Refresh the guide once in a while. The settings menu has an option to update the channel list and the EPG — use it if programme times look out of date.
Still Stuck? Troubleshooting
- "Login failed" or "Invalid details": Check every character against your welcome email — capital letters, and no stray spaces. Make sure the URL begins with
http://. - The app opens but shows no channels: Sign out, then repeat Step 3 and wait for the load to finish completely.
- Channels buffer or freeze: Test your internet speed on the same device and restart your router. Our guide to fixing IPTV buffering covers the rest.
- The guide is empty: Refresh the EPG from the settings menu, then see how to enable the TV guide.
Still not watching? Contact AbyssTV support with the device you're using and what you see on screen, and we'll get you sorted quickly.
