How to Set Up IPTV on iPhone & iPad (GSE Smart IPTV)

A step-by-step guide to watching your AbyssTV subscription on iPhone and iPad with the GSE Smart IPTV app.

Your AbyssTV subscription isn't tied to the living room. With a player app on your iPhone or iPad you can watch live channels, sport and films anywhere you have a good connection — at home on Wi-Fi, or on the move.

This guide uses GSE Smart IPTV, a long-standing player for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV that accepts both an M3U link and an Xtream login. It takes about five minutes.

Before You Start

You'll need:

  1. Your AbyssTV login details — the M3U link, or the server address, username and password, from your welcome email. The easiest way is to open that email on the same iPhone or iPad, so you can copy and paste.
  2. An iPhone or iPad with a recent version of iOS or iPadOS.

Note: Apps come and go on the App Store. If GSE Smart IPTV isn't available in your country, IPTV Smarters Pro is set up in almost the same way and works just as well on iPhone and iPad.

Step 1: Install GSE Smart IPTV

  1. Open the App Store.
  2. Search for GSE Smart IPTV.
  3. Tap Get, then open the app.

Allow or decline notifications as you prefer — the app works either way.

Step 2: Add Your AbyssTV Subscription

Tap the menu icon (three lines) in the top-left corner. You can add your subscription in two ways.

Option A: Xtream Codes Login (Recommended)

  1. In the menu, tap Xtream Codes API.
  2. Tap the + icon.
  3. Fill in the fields:
    • Name — anything you like, such as AbyssTV.
    • Server / URL — the server address from your welcome email, starting with http:// and including the port number if one is shown.
    • Username and Password — exactly as in the email.
  4. Tap Login (or Add).

This gives you live channels, movies and series in separate sections, and the app fetches the programme guide for you.

Option B: M3U Link

  1. In the menu, tap Remote Playlists.
  2. Tap the + icon, then Add M3U URL.
  3. Enter a name (AbyssTV) and paste the M3U link from your welcome email.
  4. Tap Add.

Tip: Press and hold the link in your welcome email and choose Copy, then press and hold in the app's link field and choose Paste. Typing a long link by hand almost always ends in a typo.

Step 3: Start Watching

Tap your AbyssTV entry. The app loads your channels, grouped by category.

  • Tap a group, then a channel, to start playing.
  • Turn your device sideways for full screen.
  • Tap the star to save a channel to your favourites.

Step 4: Watch on the Big Screen (Optional)

To send the picture from your iPhone or iPad to a TV:

  • AirPlay: while a channel is playing, tap the AirPlay icon and choose your Apple TV or AirPlay-ready TV.
  • Chromecast: GSE Smart IPTV can also cast to a Chromecast on the same Wi-Fi network — look for the cast icon.

For regular viewing on a TV, a dedicated app on the TV itself gives a smoother picture. See our guides for Apple TV and Firestick.

Getting the Best Picture

  • Wi-Fi is best at home. On mobile data, streaming uses a lot of data — a film in HD can use several gigabytes.
  • Close other apps if playback stutters; older devices have less memory to spare.
  • How many devices can watch at once depends on your plan. See IPTV on multiple devices.

Still Stuck? Troubleshooting

  • Login fails: Check for capital letters and spaces, and make sure the server address starts with http://.
  • The list is empty: Delete the entry (swipe left on it) and add it again, pasting the link rather than typing it.
  • No programme guide: Give it a few minutes on first use, then see how to enable the TV guide.
  • Buffering: Try another Wi-Fi network or move closer to your router, then follow how to fix IPTV buffering.
